A trip to Nana and Papa's...

So our trip began with this...TRAFFIC...outside of Phoenix:(
A bridge was out and we had to merge down to one lane...lots of fun with two kids in the car. Cody kept rolling his window down to look out and saying "where's the red light?" Hahaha. Well what wasn't funny about this trip was that between the traffic, the stops to pee, change diapers and feed bottles it took us 7 hours to get there (and it's only a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive)...but it was worth it in the long run to see my family.
And because Abigail has major "mommy attachment" right now and kept crying because she couldn't see me I decided to squeeze in between their two car seats and ride like that since turning around was making me car sick...
That didn't help much...this is what Abigail found entertaining to do while Daddy pulled over and let mommy puke on the side of the road after I was sitting in the backseat for about an hour...
We left at 11:00am and pulled in around 6:00pm. Cody was done by then, but once we got there I think he was up until 10:00 that night..little cat nap and he was good to go apparently.

Cody ready for his adventure walk in the desert with Daddy and Papa..Mommy, Abigail and Nana headed out to the mall:)
Some Christmas presents opened...
Nana and Papa got a webcam from us so we can chat and see each other:)
Not sure if Abigail liked her presents or the wrapping paper and bows better?
We got to see my nephews (Dylan and Gavin) for a bit too..
Boy can three boys sure make a mess with wrapping paper:)
Abigail took a few scootin' moves while we were there..
We took the kids to an indoor bounce house one day (Bubba Jump). This place was awesome! It had a small play area for little ones and a parent section where you could sit on leather couches and watch tv/use their laptop....all while your child in the bouncers were in your constant view (for 5 bucks). Cody bounced himself silly and Abigail explored a little slide, some big blocks, and a puzzle with Nana.

My best friend Shanon came into town one of the nights we were there. She came and picked me up to go for some dessert with her and one of our good friends from high school, Jamie. A little photo opt before we headed out.

Just a little rain as we were driving back home...
Here's where the traffic had to merge down to one lane on the other side of the freeway (what we had to do heading out of Phx), man we were so thankful it took us only minutes to pass this heading home!
A little break to stretch our legs...Abigail was mesmerized by the rain drops!

We are home now with kidos tucked into bed, laundry is in full effect and I'll be heading upstairs to tuck myself into my electric blanket in a bit.
